With an abundant of specialised skin care products on the market, one easily forgets the essentials. Our beauty therapist, Sophie, shares the 7 simple steps of a healthy skin care routine.
1. Identify your skin type
It’s important to know your skin’s level of sensitivity, hydration and elasticity. When the skin care products you use does not address your skin’s key needs, visible results will not appear and in some cases it can worsen your skin condition, even when using quality products.
The best way to learn the unique demands of your skin is to consult a professional. At Roseberry we offer a free skin consultation using a state of the art Deep Skin Analysis System.
2. Cleanse twice daily
Cleanse your face in the morning and at night before your go to bed to ensure that dirt doesn’t penetrate your skin and cause irritation that can lead to acne and eczema. Cleansing more than twice daily is not recommended, as it strips your skin from its natural oils.
You can choose from milk, gels or foaming cleansers. Declare Cleansing Powder, €28.00 or Botanifique Re Fresh Foaming Cleanser 25.99 or Juvena Calming Cleansing Milk, €22.50.
3. Don't skip the Toner
Toner helps to retain your skin pH level, prevents the growth of bacteria, tightens the pores and prepares the skin for the penetration of the serums and moisturisers. Avoid fragrant toners as it might pose a risk of an allergic reaction that can cause damage to your skin.
Declare Tonifying Lotion, €18.75, and Dead Sea minerals Daily Dewdrops Toner from Aqua Mineral, €25.99, are both allergens free and will leave you feeling revitalised
4. Add a Face Serum to your daily skin care routine
The molecules in serums are smaller than those found in moisturisers. This allows vitamins, amino acids and essential oils to penetrate deeper into the skin. Serum therefore prepares your skin for the moisturiser giving you faster and better results. Serums can also be aimed at solving specific skin problems.

When exfoliating you stimulate the skin’s natural regeneration process by removing dead skin cells on the top layer of your skin. Your skin naturally sheds these dead cells on a daily basis. Regular exfoliation will leave your skin looking bright, healthy and radiant. Your skin type will determine which type exfoliator is best for you.
